WTF?? Are they really worth that much outside of Japan? Anyone knows of other ones for sale outside of here? That equals to 25000US$ or so...

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I do smell massive “crackpipe” though... Less than 2000 were produced and considering how japanes “use cars”, certainly very few are left today but still. I got mine from a friend and paid roughly 6 times less than that for it lol

Can’t Australians import directly from Japan with little hassle?

I’m sure they’re appreciating nicely in left-hand-drive countries.

yes we can thankfully.

merely have to get import approval first , than once it hits our shores it then has to gain a compliance plate from an Auto engineer , then you’re good to go.

Yes, they can, but the car is in general very hard to find, even in Japan... I think there’s only 3 for sale in Japan right now... 2 of those have a really ugly body kit too...

No no, not planning on coming back other than to bring back cars and visiting relatives and friends :)

Going back in April for 1 month most likely. Buying more cars and spending a few days on the nordschleife as I’m lacking my yearly dose of green hell :)

Not a Turbo. Turbos are JDM only and less than 2000 were produced between 1984 and 1985, which explains the extra cost for it. It’s also fuel injected. Something like half a million non-turbo were produced, and yes, they are cheap everywhere in the world :)

It’s more expensive, but 25k$ for it is a bit steep lol

EDIT: 471,018 produced but between 1500 and 2000 turbo only. Certainly way less left today.

Here is a picture of the engine bay (my car actually). Then if the engine is the same, you have to check the VIN and make sure it starts with “SA22C -3....etc” :)

hehe no worries :)

They are very hard to come by... The three in Japan and the one in Australia are the only ones I’ve found for sale in the world at the moment... Considering how Japanese destroy and get rid of cars when they are deemed too old, and considering how they deal with rotaries in general (considered to be too unreliable and thirsty... I agree with the second part lol), I wouldn’t be surprised if only a few hundreds were still in driveable shape today in the world.

I’ll stick with old Lancias, Rovers, Land Rovers, etc... and new Skodas. :)
